Eric Saint Georges

Eric Saint Georges was born in France and lives in California. His work in sculpture began in 1978, in a workshop with the sculptor Petrus, which led him to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

After a thirty-five year career in electrical engineering he returned to art full time in 2015. His sculptures, primarily cast in bronze, come out of a process where the marks of his tools remain part of the finished work. He also works in steel, cement and mixed media on paper.

His practice draws on years of Aikido and on meditation, which he brings into the studio as a working method rather than a subject. He teaches figure drawing and sculpture. His work has been shown at 10 West Gallery and Seager-Gray Gallery.
