Mohammad-Ali Taraghijah was an Iranian painter, whose work often featured rural, Iranian, landscape imagery. Some of his works are housed in major international art centers, including the International Museum of 21st Century Art in the U.S., the Sharjah Museum of Modern Art, the Rotterdam World Museum, and the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art’s collection.
Dr. Eberhard Frank, a painter, university professor, and president of the German Painters Association, compares Taraqqijah’s works to the quatrains of Khayyam in terms of brevity and poeticism. He writes: "The first feeling that arises from a brief glance at the works in this exhibition is the precise order of the paintings and their weightlessness, as if they are suspended in space, leaving an impact similar to that of precious old letters on the viewer."
Sabine Nagdy Daveh, a Ph.D. in Art History and a former Sotheby’s expert, comments on Taraqqijah’s work: "His art is the result of his peace with the world around him. He easily transforms realities into soothing linear compositions with unique and beautifully stylized designs and monochromatic backgrounds."
