Behzad Shishegaran is a veteran artist who, for over half a century, has consistently focused on the most significant social and political issues of Iran, and at times, the world, as the main subjects of his work. An artist who believes that reflecting social concerns is perhaps the most important duty placed on the shoulders of artists. Holding firm to this belief, he has always made it a point not to remain silent in the face of issues that have, in some way, become part of the public discourse. Instead, he uses color and imagery to express all that remains unsaid. Recently, he held a solo exhibition of his works at Bostan Gallery. He says that, despite all the ups and downs, he has never regretted the path he has taken.
