The painting by Ms. Satin Ghafari from her horse race collection conveys a striking and somewhat surreal mood. The horse, adorned with an unusual and elaborate headgear resembling a gas mask, suggests a juxtaposition of natural beauty and industrial or mechanical intrusion. This combination creates a sense of tension and unease, as the natural elegance of the horse is contrasted with the restrictive and unnatural apparatus.
Despite the restrictive gear, the horse's inherent elegance and strength still shine through, indicating resilience and grace under pressure.
Overall, the painting captures a complex blend of emotions and themes, encouraging viewers to reflect on the relationship between nature and human innovation, as well as the inherent beauty and resilience of the natural world even in challenging circumstances.
Satin Ghafari, born in March 1984 in Tehran, is a painter and architect. Satin is a warm and cheerful person who often uses vibrant colors in her work. From childhood, she began studying painting under the guidance of her grandmother, who is also an artist, and prominent teachers like the late Abbas Katouzian, Master Rahim Noei, and Master Iman Maleki for approximately twenty years. At only 22 years old, she started teaching painting and continues to do so, maintaining a dedicated following of long-time students.
Over the years, she has nurtured numerous talented students who, now as her peers, have displayed their works in various group and individual exhibitions. She has held exhibitions at several prestigious galleries, including Shirin Art House, Dihim Art House, Baroque Gallery, Shokoh Gallery, Bam Gallery, Dr. Hessabi Museum, Sobhana Gallery, Mina Gallery, the Middle Eastern Art Collection of Qatar, and the Istanbul Nidra Art Collection.
Satin Ghafari has always focused on the environment and animals, often depicting these themes in her works. Her love for creating hyper-realistic pieces is evident in the detailed execution of her art.
In 2013, she participated in a contemporary group exhibition of animals at Shirin Gallery, where she was named among the top 40 artists. Satin's art is not confined to a single subject. Her collections feature contrasting themes such as the interaction between humans and animals, the negative impacts on the environment, horse racing, bird's-eye views of parties, and the city of Tehran. Her latest collection, "Everlasting Faces," has been well-received by art enthusiasts. The unique technique she has created offers a fresh narrative in her artistic journey, showcasing meticulous pieces painted over the past 20 years. These works, with their distinctive and bold style, are expected to draw significant attention.
