Eric Saint Georges

France - USA

Eric Saint Georges is a French-born artist, currently living in California, renowned for his abstracted figurative sculptures and drawings, where he strives to distill the human figure into its purest form of movement, emotion, and presence. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, however, Eric's passion for sculpture was ignited in 1978 during a workshop with sculptor Petrus, leading him to study at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

After a 35-year engineering career, Eric returned to art full-time in 2015, crafting works that blend his engineering precision with artistic spontaneity. His sculptures, primarily cast in bronze, reflect a dynamic process where marks of his tools become an integral part of the piece, connecting viewers to the raw energy of his creations. Eric’s works are exhibited at leading galleries such as 10 West Gallery and Seager-Gray Gallery and are celebrated for inviting imagination and personal interpretation.

Eric's artistic philosophy emphasizes meditation and mindfulness, which he incorporates into his process through techniques inspired by his years of Aikido practice. Whether using clay, bronze, or mixed media, he embraces randomness and imperfection, capturing the tension and essence of the human form.

Eric is dedicated to teaching figure drawing and sculpture, nurturing creativity in others. His goal is to bridge art and technology, using his engineering background to innovate while maintaining a timeless focus on the human experience. Through his work, Eric Saint Georges offers a harmonious balance of technical mastery and heartfelt expression, leaving space for audiences to connect deeply with his vision.
